UFC’s Matt Serra .vs. New York Legislature
What a long way the UFC has come in a few short years. It was just a few years ago when Presidential Candidate John McCain was breathing down the neck of the UFC calling the sport “human cockfighting”.
Now, the sport is legal in every state in the country except for New York. Enter Matt Serra. Serra, one of the UFC’s biggest stars, recently stated his case to the New York legislature to lift the ban on the sport. Lawrence Epstein, a lawyer for Ultimate Fighting said that he has recently received positive feedback from the Secretary of State as well as state legislators.
Since the UFC is such big business with some estimating its new worth in excess of $1 billion, Look for New York to lift its ban sometime soon.
